52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks #45 Hannah Dunn

This is my forty-fifth posting for the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks challenge

The focus this week is Hannah Dunn, the wife of Charles James. Hannah according to the census records, was born in Beoley, Worcestershire, England. There is a Hannah Dunn baptized in Beoley 12 May 1797. She was the daughter of Sarah Dunn. On 11 September 1815, Hannah married Charles in Exhall, Warwickshire. These two communities are about 30 miles apart.

Charles and Hannah had a large family. Using a combination of census and parish records, I have pieced together the following.

These are the known children.
In the 1841 census they are shown with seven children. William is listed as 25, so he could have been between 25 to 29 years of age. Next was John who was 20 so he could have been between 20 and 24 but the christening took place 13 April 1817. Eliza was 14 [born about 1827]; Sarah was 12 [born about 1829], Ann was 10 [born about 1831], Elizabeth was 6 [born about 1835] and Lucy James 5 [born about 1836]. 

Three not included in the 1841 census but appear in the Familysearch index were:
George baptized 1 March 1819
Hannah baptized 22 April 1821
Charles baptized 2 February 1823

There is a Ruth James baptized with parents listed as George and Hannah James 26 November 1844 also in Exhall, Warwickshire. Is it realistic to think that Hannah had a baby at the age of 47? 

In 1851, when Charles and his wife Elizabeth had another baby, Hannah was there when the enumerator visited. Ten years later, in the household of George, 66 and Hannah, 65, are their daughter, Sarah Davis, a widow and aged 30 and grandson Frederick Davis aged 10 and their daughter Lucy, aged 20. 

George died in 1865. In 1871, Hannah was living alone in a cottage in Exhall and she was receiving parish relief. 

Hannah was buried from the Parish Church on 18 June 1876.

52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks: #44 George James

This is my forty-fourth posting for the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks challenge

George James is my great-great-great grandfather. He was born about 1795 in Inkberrow, Worcestershire, England. On 11 September 1815, he married Hannah Dunn in Exhall, Warwickshire. The distance from Inkberrow to Exhall is about 40 miles.

In the first available census (1841), George and Hannah are living in the Exhall civil parish in the Alcester Registration District. In this census, the ages of adults over 15, are rounded down to the nearest 5. Since George and Hannah are listed as 45 years of age, they could be anywhere from 45 to 49 years old. In the household are William listed as 25 years old, John listed as 20, Eliza is 14, Sarah is 12, Ann is 10, Elizabeth is 6 and Lucy is 5. It is possible that other children are no longer living at home. Certainly, my great-great grandmother, Hannah James is missing. There is a gap between William and John of at least five years. There is a gap of about 6 years between John and Eliza. 

In 1851, the family is living in Exhall. George is 56 years old. His wife is not listed in the household. The rest of the family are John 33, Ann 19, Lucy, 10 and Ruth.

It would appear that Hannah was enumerated with Charles James, wife Ellizabeth and four children, aged 6 to 1 month in the civil parish of Billesley in the Stratford on Avon Registration District. Hannah is 56 years old and is listed as mother. Did Hannah go there to help her daughter-in-law with the children after the birth of baby John?

In 1861, in the household of George, 66 and Hannah, 65, are their daughter, Sarah Davis, a widow and aged 30 and grandson Frederick Davis aged 10 and their daughter Lucy, aged 20. 

George died in June 1865 in Exhall. He was buried 11 June 1865.

52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks: #43 Hannah James

This is my forty-third posting for the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks challenge

Hannah James is my great-great grandmother. Her parents were George James and Hannah Dunn. Hannah was baptized 22 April 1822 in Exhall Parish. She married John Mucklow on 11 September 1843 in Alcester, Warwickshire, England. (English civil registration)

Hannah and John had 11 known children. 
Those I have identified as their children are as follows:
John baptized 11 February 1844 in the parish church at Arrow, Warwickshire.
William baptized 3 April 1845.
Mary Ann born about 1848.
Sarah baptized 16 September 1849.
William baptized 23 February 1852.
Hannah baptized 16 April 1854.
Eliza A. baptized 21 March 1856.
Elizabeth baptized 7 February 1858.
George born about 1860.
John James born about 1863.
Ruth baptized 10 July 1864.

John and Hannah lived in Warwickshire in the Alcester and Aston Cantlow area.

It would appear that Hannah outlived her husband and died in 1915. I need to order a death registration for her.

Wordless Wednesday - Great Great Grandparents Mucklow

John Mucklow and Hannah James of Alcester, Warwickshire area. They are my great-great grandparents and I descend from their daughter Sarah. John was a gamekeeper at Coughton Court.
Thank you to Danny Packman, a new found cousin, for sending me the photo and giving me permission to post. I had received this photo before but not with the two together and I couldn't see the details of the house behind.

We are to take the age that your father would be if living and that would 93 as he was born in 1916.
Divided by 4 that makes 23.25 and rounded to the nearest number would be 23.

#23 on my Ahnentafel Chart is Hannah James. She is my great-great grandmother.

2. Her father was George James. I do not know her mother's name.
3.I have found 11 children for her and John. (census and baptismal records)
