This is my twenty-fifth posting for the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks challenge.
Catherine Brown was a mother to possibly nine children. Seven were born to Catherine and James McKenzie in Durisdeer, Dumfries, Scotland:Janet, James, Andrew, Alexander, William, Mary, and Agnes. The two I question are Thomas and John (twins) born in Troqueer, Kirkcudbright, Scotland. Did the family live for a time in Kirkcudbright? By the 1841, the census records that seems to match the family does not include Catherine. Had she died after the birth of Thomas and John. John is not listed in the 1841 census. Did he not survive?
The marriage records for Durisdeer have not been filmed by the Family History Centre. Did James and Catherine marry there or elsewhere?
Many questions remain about Catherine.
